Sinopsis de Ecological geography of the sea

Ecological Geography of the Sea synthesizes a large number of locally restricted studies to generate a global geography for this vast marine world. Based in part on global patterns of algal ecology, the book divides the oceans into four primary biomes and then subdivides these into secondary compartments. Secondary compartments are identified and characterized by biogeochemical features including nutrient dynamics, continental shelf topography, and algal blooms. Because this ocean-wide regional classification has such broad impact on the way oceanographers and ecologists study ocean patterns, this book will have wide and long-term appeal.
