This work addresses the sources, environmental cycles, uptake, consequences and control of many of the more important chlorinated organic micropollutants, including PCBs, PCDDs, PCDFs and various chlorinated pesticides. The compounds included in this are ones which do not cause harm to the stratospheric ozone layer, but have given concern in relation to their environmental persistance and high toxicity, and their potential adverse effects on humans and wildlife.
